The story of a Mogolian child, Eochirzan, was on media. He took a burn surgery at Hangangsoo Hospital last July and a month later, he went back to Mongolia. His story was broadcast at the Mongolian UBS Documentary Medical Care Volunteer [Old couple’s child, Eochirzan and his laughter] throughout Mongolia. Eochirzan was invited through a medical sharing campaign promoted by Korea Health Industry Development Institute. He had already undergone a few surgeries in Mongolia after he got his hand severely burnt. As he was a growing child, it was necessary for him to get his scar surgically to be removed so he came to Hangangsoo Hospital. Dr. Jung-hwan Lee, a specialist in a burn plastic surgery, examined Eochirzan’s condition and found a moderate level of contracture. As the contraction of the hand could lead to functional problems, he performed the surgery in order to reduce restrictions on the movement and function of his hand. After the surgery at no cost, Eochirzan went back to Mongolia and now he is enjoying his life better with his family and friends. Since its opening, burn specialized Hangangsoo Hospital has provided free medical service every year to burn patients in Mongolia. Since 2015, Hangangsoo Hospital has provided a medical training program to burn medical staff at the National Trauma Hospital of Mongolia. So far, a total of 26 students have gone through the program.
